Course objectives
At the end of this course, student shoud be able oriented at the special literature to general management; The student is concerned with general management used in contractor as well as non contractor kinds of organization; The student shoud be able to provide with basic knowledge usable in practice; The student should be ready to pursue study of special domain in management concentrated at managing teams and human leadership; The student should understand basic knowledge of managerial thinking, and of attitudes toward work with people, especially in small working groups.
Learning outcomes
The student is able: - to understand and explain the mutual links and factors that influence the processes in organisations - to apply in practice the principles of managerial thinking and work - ready to pursue study of special domain in management concentrated at managing teams and human leadership - analyse the problems of human relations in teams - design organisation of teams/working groups
Syllabus
  • Block 1: Organisation and its characteristics 1. Organisation: concept, organisation system, general approaches to managing organisations. 2. Theory of bureaucracy. 3. Different concepts of organizations and management, their development in management theory. 4. Classification of the concept of organizations and approaches to them. 5. Organizational structures. 6. Organizational culture. Block 2: Management in the organisation 7. Introduction to management: types of management, nature of managerial work, trends and challenges of management. 8. Management work cycle I: planning, problem solving and decision making. 9. Management work cycle II: organizing, coordinating and inter-organizational cooperation, leadership, communication and control. 10. The process of learning and solving organizational problems. 11. Organizational conflict, change and development.
