Course objectives
The course offers students not only theoretical basics but also an opportunity to apply those in practical seminars. At the end of the course students will understand the differences between traditional and online journalism, understand the legal and ethical framework of online journalism and be able to prepare all genres of online journalism. Part of the course is a practical seminar where students will try not only the daily practice as online journalists but also a long-term preparation of materials for online media. The complexity of the course is based on the requirements of the application sphere, as elaborated in the market analysis.
Learning outcomes
Main objectives can be summarized as follows:
to understand and explain changing routines in the multimedia newsrooms;
to work with information on the basic rules for on-line journalistic writing;
to learn multimedia journalism;
to create on-line project;
to gain overview about civic journalism, journalism on demand, social media;
to understand ethical norms for on-line journalism.
