Cíle předmětu
The goal of this course is to teach students the basics of - freelancing - networking - pitching - conducting of interviews for media, podcasts and companies - solutions journalism
Výstupy z učení
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- conduct interviews;
- create a network of contacts in journalism;
- write a compelling pitch to media;
- start a podcast;
- launch a copywriting business.

  • This course is based on practical know-how and does not require students to read primary or secondary literature.

Lecture, discussion, classroom activities, writing an interview, analysis of other people‘s interviews.
Metody hodnocení
To successfully complete the course, students need to attend all five classes. In case a student is not able to come to the class (because of illness or family reasons), they have to email the teacher minimum two days before the class and will have to complete homework to make up for their absence. Students also need to submit the following homework: - a bio (one short paragraph, max. 6 lines) - a pitch (1 page) - an interview (written/video/audio) - 3 standard pages, headline, dek, three photos of the interviewee and one's bio under the text - analysis of someone else's interview - one question for each class with a guest speaker
