Course objectives
The defense of the dissertation project has the form of a public lecture with the participation of at least 3 members of the Doctoral Board. The student will present a detailed dissertation project, which should demonstrate that their work is aiming for the successful completion of the dissertation. The student should present the theoretical background of the project and describe in detail their research objectives, including the justification of research objectives within the theoretical background. The student will also present the (planned) methods used to achieve the research objectives. If the student already has certain results, they may present preliminary results, but this is not a prerequisite. The lecture is followed by a critical debate in which the student must defend the project, including the selected research objectives and the design of the methods used.

The course develops learning outcomes No.1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Syllabus
  • The student is expected to complete this course by the end of the 4th semester. To complete the course, the student will present a detailed doctoral project at a public seminar. The committee consists of at least 3 members of the Doctoral Board. The Commission shall vote on whether the presented project complies with standards of the media and journalism doctoral degree program.
