Syllabus
  • Definition of basic terms. Methodologies used in studying and assesing rhytmic processes. Endogenous rhythms: Biological clock in general - mechanisms. Endogenous rhythms without external correlates. Endogenous rhythms with external correlates (including circadian, sexual and population cycles). External rhythms: Photoperiodicity. Thermoperiodicity. The effect of food and environment. Meteorotropic influences. Cosmic influences. Rhythmic processes and animal navigation. Exogenous rhythms: 24-hour rhythms. Lunar rhythms. Seasonal rhythms. Conclusions on biorhythms.
