Syllabus
  • Principal factors underlying differentiation patterns of vegetation on global scale. Vegetation zones and altitudinal belts. Tropical rain forest. Characterization, ecological factors, distribution, species pool, regional differentiation, conservation of the main biomes of the World: Mangroves. Transitions to savannas, gallery forests. Savannas. Semi-deserts and deserts. Evergreen forests of Mediterranean type. Macquis, garigues, tomillares, chaparal. Temperate broad-leaved forests. Boreal coniferous forests, taiga. Tundra.
