Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Journal Club has been established as a forum for discussion on scientific papers published in the field of genetics, genomics, molecular and cell biology. Discussions aim to i) deepen scientific knowledge of the participants, ii) improve rethoric skills („the art of discussion“), and iii) extend the English vocabulary.
Syllabus
  • Discussed articles and topics reporting on the newest progress in the field of genome structure and evolution, epigenetics, paleogenomics, genetics, evolution, phylogenetics and related scientific fields. Scientific articles and topics are selected by a teacher.
Teaching methods
Presentation of selected scientific articles and discussion.
Assessment methods
Fulfilling requirements (presentation of a scientific paper/topic and regular attendance).
