Course objectives
The practical course will focus on methodology usefull for structural and kinetic characterisation of proteins/enzymes. The practical exercises will teach students to characterize secondary structure and thermostability of proteins by method of circular dichroism, quarternary structure will be probed by using of native electrophoresis and gel chromatography. The students will learn how to assess basic kinetic parametrs of enzymatic reactions by using colorimetric methods and gas chromatography.
Syllabus
  • 1. Protein folding and stability
  • 2. Quarternary structure of proteins
  • 3. Enzyme activity and kinetics
