Course objectives
Survey of cyanobacteria, algae and fungi as well as other fungi-like organisms according to contemporary knowledge of their phylogenesis. Procaryotic and Eucaryotic cell structure, karyological differences, differences in reproduction process. Algal system based on endosymbiotic theory, classifying in several kingdoms of organisms. Systematic position of the groups of fungi and fungi-like organisms, their classifying in kingdoms. For each group: cell structure, the structure of cell compartiments, reproduction mode, main habitats, most important representatives, their role in ecosystems and practical use.
