Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the basics of synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles, methods of characterization of nanoparticles, their applications and possible perspectives.
Learning outcomes
Students will acquire knowledge enabling basic orientation in the field of inorganic nanomaterials, will know the basics of synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials.
Syllabus
  • Basic properties of nanoparticles - NPs (electron structure, clusters, crystallography, magnetic and optical properties, thermodynamics, reactivity, phase transitions, ...). Synthesis NPs (bottom-up & down, synthesis of   vapor phase pyrolysis, wet synthesis of   precursor powder method, ...). Nanomaterials (inorganic substances nanoslitiny, quantum dots, pigments, nanocomposites, ...). Characterization of NPs (electron microscopy, spectral methods, thermal analysis, ...). Application NPs (sensors, catalysis, the mechanical properties of NPs, ...) Prospective application (nanotechnology, medicine, ...). Toxicology and Risk NPs.
