Course objectives
Practical training on physical methods in polymer chemistry. Various methods applied in polymer chemistry are exercised during this practical course with the aim to bring to the students overview of possible polymer testing.
Syllabus
  • 1. PP polymerization. 2. PE synthesis. 3. Analysis of additives in polymers by HPLC. 4. Analysis of stabilizers in polymers by GC. 5. Flow index. 6. Determination of polymer saturation by IR. 7. Identification of unknown polymer by IR. 8. Polymer stability determination. 9. Determination of melting characteristic and crystalinity of polymers. 10. Physical properties of polymers determination. 11. Physical properties of polymers determination. 12. Polymer branching by NMR.
