- Cíle předmětu
- The Photochemical Group Meeting is a regular meeting of the members of the Laboratory of Organic Photochemistry, nevertheless, it is also opened to those who may find the research topics in organic and environmental photochemistry interesting. The scientific topics are prepared and presented mostly (but not only) by the students of the lab, and they are then informally discussed in depth. The selected topics are related to the research of the members of the lab, but extensions and especially novel themes from the current scientific literature are appreciated. The topics covered are always lucidly introduced within a broader context to allow a good comprehension for any freshman in the field. The emphasis is given on justification of your scientific thinking: Why is my topic interesting? (Why do I do what I do? :-)) What are the most important questions that will drive my research to a success? How should I design new experiments to answer those questions? What are the outcomes of such experiments and how do I interpret them? Each presentation should be aimed to ignite a fruitful discussion with your colleagues to benefit from their knowledge and ideas through their feedback to the speaker. A well-prepared presentation with scientific analysis of the subject, which makes people involved in your topic, can help the speaker to see it from a different and often unanticipated perspective. The purpose of the group meetings • to keep the members of the group informed about the current projects and scientific literature • to practice the scientific thinking while having fun • to learn making and presenting the research results to the public
