- Advanced seminar for PhD students of centre RECETOX (Environmental Health Sciences), there are no specific prerequisities.
- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- Main objective of the seminar is to continuously advance knowledge of the PhD students in the broader Environmental Health Sciences field. Students will discuss and present practical applications of environmental chemistry, toxicology as well as mathematical biology/bioinformatics issues. Seminar combines lectures of external and internal professionals, student's presentations and directed discussions to selected topics. Students will be able to combine, interpret and discuss their own results within the complex environmental health sciences field.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will advance their general knowledge and will be able to combine, interpret and discuss their own results within the current state of the art of the broader environmental health sciences field.
- Syllabus
- Lectures of invited professionals - e.g. from research institutions, environmental regulatory arena, industry, hydrometeorological institute, local and regional administration etc.
- Summary lectures on specific research field or project (e.g. environmental chemistry, toxicology, ecotoxicology, application of mathematical biology and bioinformatics)
- Students presentations and discussion of their results in English
- Moderated discussions on specific research problems (e.g. biochemical markers, assessment of complex contaminated matrices, experimental design etc.)

- Seminar discussions, lectures, moderated workshops

- seminars weekly, individual presentation and discussion of results, credits granted for active participation
