Course objectives
At present, Brno and its surroundings becomes a technological centre of Czech Republic. We expect that firms working here offer jobs to our graduates. It concerns relatively to small companies dealing with applications of newest technologies where they suppose deep physical erudition particularly but also to large companies (often affiliates of multinationals) where they suppose particular knowledge of managerial and economic approaches. The subject Physics in firm is due to introduce students with environment in both types of companies.

So, the aim of the subject is due to introduce students via lectures with activities of several companies particularly being situated in Brno’s region. If possible managerial and economical aspects of work in firms, besides applied physical knowledge, will be discussed, too. In the end of the course students make an overview as to the activities of selected corporations, preferable from Brno territory, applying the current physical knowledge in their fabrics produced by semiconductor, aircraft, and material or textile industry. The list of research companies will be completed by selected departments of Academy of Science, Czech Republic as they represent a crossover between the companies and full academic institutions. The course should help to students finding job passing the subject Specialized practice. The lectures and discussions will be completed suitably, based possibilities and interest, with visits of individual firms.
