Course objectives
Structure and properties of matter. Elements of biocybernetics. Introduction to thermodynamics. Introduction to molecular biophysics. Biophysics of biological membranes, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, perception, hearing and vision. Biological effects of mechanic forces and sound. Biological effects of electromagnetic fields, non-ionising and ionising radiation. Medicine and technology. Biological signals and their processing. Measurements and recording of mechanical movements and pressure. Ultrasound imaging, Doppler and duplex methods. Temperature measurements and recording. Optical laboratory and imaging methods. Principles of electrodiagnostics. Conventional X-rays imaging methods. Modern tomographic methods. Diagnostic methods using radionuclides. Devices for physical therapy. Principles of radiotherapy. Physical methods used in surgery. Principles of artificial organs.
