-knowledge of basics of astrophysics.

Course objectives (in Czech)
The aim of the course is to show basics concepts of hydrodynamics in astrophysics.
Learning outcomes (in Czech)
The student will be able to understand basics of hydrodynamics and its application to different fields of astrophysics.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • 1. Hydrodynamical equations, different ways of deriving the hydrodynamical equations from basic principles, hydrodynamical equations for multicomponent flows.
  • 2. Basic solutions of hydrodynamical equations: hydrostatic equilibrium equation, sound waves, gravity waves, shock waves.
  • 3. Radiative hydrodynamics: interaction of matter and light, radiative heating and cooling, radiative force, examples in astrophysics.
  • 4. Coronal winds, dust driven winds, radiatively driven wind of hot stars.
  • 5. Bondih accretion solution, accretion and outflowing disk, disk dynamics, anomalous viscosity.
  • 6. Basics of magnetohydrodymics, magnetohydrodynamical equations and their applications: magnetohydrodynamical waves, solar cycle (solar dynamo).
  • 7. Magnetorotational instability, linearized equations, conditions for instability.

Oral lectures.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Oral exam, preparation of the talk on a given topic.
