Course objectives
The course provides information on elementary geological principles and laws. Main evolutionary events and palaeogeographic and palaeoclimatic changes during Precambrian, Palaeozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic will be explained.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- summarise possible causes and consequences of climatic and palaeogeographic changes and mass extinctions;
- summarise main phases of global ecosystems development;
- describe development of climate in Phanerozoic;
- describe palaeogeographic development of the Earth;
