Course objectives
The course is devoted to students of magisterial progammme Geology, mainly to those who intend to pass the state examinations in the subject Paleontology.It follows the main goal to present them on the advanced university level the main microscopic methods used in micropaleontology and to make them acquainted with the systematic determination of the common groups of fossil microorganisms.
Syllabus
  • Basic microscopical methods of the study of the individual systematic groups - Foraminifera,Porifera,Coelenterata, Ostracoda, Bryozoa,Calpionellida,Conodonta, Diatomaceae, Dinophyceae, Rhodophyta, Chlorophyta, palynomorphs. Study of cross sections, palynological preparates, work with the binocular microscope. Preparation methods of micropaleontological samples.
