Prerequisites
Course is based on knowledges of Bc. study and is siutable for master and PhD students. Basic knowledge of thermodynamics is welcome. Course is in English.

Course objectives
The main aims of the course are to present methods used in geology research. Important part of the course will be focused on teaching to calculate the basic parameters of fluids and to their interpretation.
Syllabus
  • 1. General introduction in fluid inclusion (flinc) research - history of investigation of flinc (2 hours) - petrography of flinc (3 hours) - study methods (3 hours) - thermodynamics (2 hours) 2. Computer exercises - measurement of volume-fractions, inclusion shape (1 hour) - construction of isochores (2 hours) - application of phase diagrams of common fluid systems (3 hours) - the use of the computer-package FLUIDS (3 hours) - calculation of clathrate (gas-hydrate) stabilities (computer package CLATHRATES) (2 hours)

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Lectures will be completed by demonstration of experiments and models. To have your own calculator or notebook will be advantage. At the end of course will be a test.
