Course objectives
Deep structure of the lithosphere. The Earths crust, mantle and core. Asthenopshere. The oceanic and continental lithosphere and lithospheric plates. Geophysical metods in investigation of the Earth,s deep structure (seismic and seismologic data, gravity, magmatic and electric fields, geotermal investigation, paleomagnetics). Deep drilling in oceanic crust. Deep drilling in continental crust. Deep drilling on the territory of the Czech republic. Contributions of the petrology and geochemistry, petrological models of the lithosphere. Deep structure of the Earth and other cosmic objects. Petrology of rocks of the deep origin I. Exotic xenolits. Petrology of the rocks of the deep origin. II. Basalts, ultrabasic rocks, migmatites, granulites and eclogites. The processes in the lithosphere. The migration of the energy and mass, the evolution of the lithosphere, metamorphismus, origin of magmas. Lithosphere of the Central Europe I. Lithosphere of the Central Europe II.
