Syllabus
  • The course will focus on the Geometric Framework (GF) for balancing of nutrient intake in animals, developed by S.J. Simpson and D. Raubenheimer. The lectures will explain the general theory and its application to various types of animals, illustrating the strategies evolved in animals of different trophic orientation (herbivores, carnivores, omnivores). The practical will be an example of an experimental design based on GF-theory of how a particular species may regulate its macronutrient intake.
