Information about enantiomeric separation by gas chromatography
Syllabus
  • C061 Cyclodextrin derivatives and enantioselective gas chromatography The determination of enantiomeric purity of chiral drugs is essential nowadays and can be achieved conveniently by gas chromatography using chiral stationary phases based on modified cyclodextrins (CD). The reported synthetic strategy deals with the use of chemo and/or regioselective reactions from the native -cyclodextrin cyclodextrin including 3 main steps: protection of one hydroxyl group, transformation of the remaining ones and further functionalization. The last part of the presentation reports on the preparation of chiral GC columns and the evaluation of their enantioselectivity (terpens, amino acid derivatives, …).
