Cíle předmětu
Introduction to mass spectrometry in inductively coupled plasma, theory, instrumentation, research and applications.
Výstupy z učení
Students will acquire knowledge about the principle of mass spectrometry, ionization source based on inductively coupled plasma discharge, various designs of mass spectrometers, measurement of signals and causes and corrections of interference, analytical properties of the method, applications of ICP-MS in conjunction with electrothermal atomization, separation methods, with applications for measuring isotope ratios, with application in life sciences, with laser ablation and imaging, in the analysis of polymers, ceramic materials and geological samples by laser ablation, use in nanoparticle analysis, single particles and single cells. Students will acquire information about current state of research and applications and about current trends in ICP-MS. The student will learn to orientate in the field of element analysis using mass spectrometry, using ICP, laser ablation and hyphenated methods.
