Differential and integral calculus in several variables.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The seminar will cover selected mathematical models and modeling technics, mainly from the field of economics and/or social science. Correspondences between classical differential equations models, system dynamics (in the sense of Sterman) and "agent-based" models will be discussed. Themes will originate in fields of macroeconomy, advertising models, spreading of infections (medical or mental).
Syllabus
  • Deterministic dynamical models - phase variables, transient equations, constraints. System dynamics - accumulations and flows. Agent-based models. Selected models.
