- Course objectives
- It is the first lecture of the series of lectures on
methods of descriptive geometry.
In the lecture the survey of all methods used in
descriptive geometry is given. General properties
of parallel and central projections are studied.
The Monge projection is studied in details. Position and metric problems are solved. Immages of circles and solid bodies are constructed. - Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to:
- display the circle, angular and rotary solids in the Monge projection method;
- to solve the position and metric tasks in the Monge projection method;
- in the Monge projection method, construct a cut of a rectangular or rotating solid. - Syllabus
- 1. Properties of parallel and central projections.
- 2. Affine mapping.
- 3. Affine mapping of a circle on an ellipse.
- 4. Orthogonal parallel projection; image of points, lines, plane and circles.
- 5. Position and metric problems.
