Course objectives
Publishing in peer-reviewed journals is a crucial skill for students who intend to pursue careers in academia. Aim of the workshop is to introduce graduate students in bio- and medical-sciences to challenges in performing research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. The workshop will combine presentations and interactive exercises targetted on writing skills and identification of errors in writing. Lectures will be presented by journal editors and reviewers.
Teaching methods
The workshop will combine:
(1) Presentations and discussions on topics related to writing productivity
(2) “read and critique” writing group meetings
