Course objectives
Students learn and use traditional and inovative forms of teaching and learning.
Syllabus
  • Didactic transformation of geography into educational goals and objectives. International charter of geographical education, Czech syllabuses for secondary schools, education through geography. Teaching, learning, materials, equipment and life in managing geography lessons. Regional and disciplinary versions in complementarity, changing world and changing geography, social construction of geography. Teaching methods, procedures, Bloom's taxonomy of learning objectives - attainment targets. Learning: knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, beliefs - competence and agency, application, geography for life. Skills of: lesson, unit, course and curriculum planning, application of appropriate evaluation methods, involving learners in a range of learning experiences, selecting and using appropriate resources and media, on-going course evaluation and revision. Knowledge and understanding of: the developing discipline of geography (concepts, themes, attitudes and skills), the social contexts of education and teaching, learners' needs, interests, expectations and rights, how learners learn (cognitive, affective and psycho-motor domains), curriculum principles.
