Cíle předmětu
The students will gain the necessary overview of the most recent global change issues from the point of view of physical geography. The course provides the principal knowledge framework related to the main Earth´s geospheres and environments. In the course, students will be familiarized with elemental facts concerned with atmosphere and recent climate change, geomorphology and global environmental change or hydrological changes. Moreover, attention will be paid to the cryosphere and climate change in polar regions as well as the impacts of global change on ecosystems. The course also aims to the explanation of key processes taking place within the particular geospheres, depicting global change impacts on human society and the environment and providing motivation to tackle the issues. Last but not least, the global change issues will be clarified based on the most recent research outcomes of involved specialists.
Výstupy z učení
At the end of the course, the students will gain the principal knowledge about current global change issues from the point of view of physical geography. They will understand the main physical-geographical processes in the atmosphere, landscape, hydrosphere, cryosphere, polar regions and freshwater ecosystems. The students will be able to identify current and the most significant global change issues, describe their impacts on human society and the environment and suggest the possible solutions to cope with them.
