Course objectives
The course offers students a selection of topics from the field of physical and human geography, which they know from the previous lessons. In all selected topics, emphasis is placed on one of the aspects of the relationship between man and nature, which is more or less controversial. An integral part of the course is to strengthen and refine the English language skills of the students of geography.
The aim of the course is to strengthen English language teaching for students of geography.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- understand the sub-themes that they deal with in their studies, in the context of the whole subject of geography as a science,
- critically evaluate the information, to take their attitude towards it,
- argue during an academic discussion on a given topic,
- work in a project-oriented team and understand interdisciplinary context,
- communicate in English - to use English as a means of communication (informal communication, academic language to describe situations, stories, contexts, language of the subject, skills training in spoken language),
- present their projects in a comprehensible form at the final student conference.
