Course objectives
The nature of problems solved using simulation methods, typical structure of simulation systems for discrete simulations, calendar and simulation kernel implementation and their applications, random nubmers genaration methods, sampling and their applications for simulation systems, random numbers generators quality testing. To teach students how to develop simulation systems for discrete simulations and using them to solve practical problems hardly to solve by other methods.
Syllabus
  • Random numbers and random numbers generation, properties of random numbers generators, testing random numbers generators quality, methods how to improve the random numbers generators quality
  • Using random numbers in various fields of informatics
  • Random values, algorithms for sampling, discrete and continuous random values
  • Discrete simulation, examples, system oriented to events and system oriented to processes
  • Simular time, states of processes, state processes registration, their changes and implementig methods
  • Function of calendars in simulation programs and the methods of their implementation
  • Using adequate data types for calendars implementation
