  • Overview of the abstractions provided by kernels in distributed object oriented operating systems.
  • Case stady - Mach.
  • Platforms for operating upon objects is distributed environment. Overview of key issues: Persitence, replication, namespaces, authentification.
  • Transaction support.
  • Case study: Java RMI, CORBA.
