Course objectives
This course will provide practical applications for English including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students will improve their facility with the language through discussions, exercises, and assignments. The course will provide opportunities to explore various techniques of language learning and teaching, while developing a broader understanding of the cultural context. The goal of this course is to maximize the use of English in both spoken and written forms through activities designed to give students a variety of formats for improving language skills.
Syllabus
  • The syllabus for this course will be integrated with the Teaching Methodology course offered by N. Vojtkova. It will follow the weekly topics in that course supplemented by: collocations and idioms

This class uses a variety of methods including mini-lecture, group discussions, presentations, and projects on Moodlinka.

Students must achieve 70% of points offered in the course by active participation, quizzes, forums and group facilitation.
