Course objectives
The course 'Practical language' is focused on the development of real-life communicative skills at advanced level by means of creative grammar work, personalized speaking tasks, lexis presented in context and realistic listening and reading. The main aim is to promote learning and achieve progress by focusing on personal engagement.
Syllabus
  • The course is based on 'Inside Out Advanced' coursebook. This term Units 8, 9 and 10 will be covered with equal attention paid to reading, speaking and listening skills. Additional work (grammar, listening, vocabulary work) will be incorporated where appropriate according to the students' needs. Topics discussed: Future and technology, Law and Crime, Challenges and Achievements.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Requirements: attendance (at least 70%, students who are not able to meet this requirement are expected to see the teacher to explain their reasons); active participation; all assigned homework; three progress tests (after each unit), credit test (pass mark 65%)
