Course objectives
Students will:
-develop and consolidate their knowledge of ELT principles which are based on the concept of the communicative approach in foreign language education
-analyze and adjust teaching materials
-try out various methods and techniques in microteaching sessions and they will evaluate their efficiency
-choose appropriate tools and methods to measure their prospective learners´ progress
-use their teaching portfolio for reflection on their professional development
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will:
-be able to use methods and techniques to teach language systems and skills which will be based on the communicative language teaching methodology,
-be able to justify the use of the methods and techniques with the reference to theory,
-choose,critically evaluate and adjust teaching resources and authentic materials for their lessons,
-raise their awareness of learners´ assessment and will choose an appropriate assessment techniques for different purposes,
-be able to use a range of assessment tools to find out about their learners´progress,
-compile their teaching portfolio as an ongoing task,
-reflect their professional development using their teaching portfolio.
