Prerequisites
The course is for students who need more practice in the syntactic analysis of texts and it is recommended to students before sitting for their examination in normative syntax.

Course objectives
Detailed analysis of the simple sentence. Differences between complex and compound sentences. Finite, non-finite, and verbless clauses and their syntactic functions. Simple and complex coordination. Sentence types and discourse functions. Semantics and grammar of adverbials. Pro-forms and ellipsis.
