Prerequisites
At the end of the course, the student will be able to understand the social climate in the classroom; on the basis of the acquired knowledge, he/she will be able to communicate better with individual students, their parents and the teacher. They will understand the group processes that take place in classroom collectives.

Course objectives
Emphasis will be placed primarily on the interaction and communication between teacher and teaching assistant. It will be oriented in the specific requirements of pupils (SPU, hyperactivity disorders, autistic manifestations, etc.).
Learning outcomes
Understand the competences of the teaching assistant in preventing and solving problems in the classroom. Learn the principles of motivation in education.
Syllabus
  • Motivation as a key process of the educational process, how the teaching assistant can support the motivation of the pupil. The possibilities of mediation between school, family and pupils. Promoting cooperation between pupils and creating an inclusive classroom environment from a school psychology perspective. Introduction to the system of assessment of pupil work and behaviour. The basics of psychohygiene of learning. Basic techniques of targeted observation focused on the needs of the pupil and basic techniques of pedagogical diagnosis. The system of care for the pupil (action and possibilities of schools, school counselling centres, medical care, social services, crisis intervention, non-governmental non-profit institutions). Cooperation of schools and school counselling centres with workers of helping professions and with the Police of the Czech Republic.
