Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to interpret (1) basic taxonomical and (2) phylogenetical information connected with knowledge about (3) reproduction and development; (4) istribution and (5) ecology of selected groups of invertebrate animals; (6)identify the most important representatives.

  • 1. "Protozoa" I: Metamonada, Euglenozoa, Choanozoa, "Rhizopoda" incl. Radiozoa, Heliozoa
  • 2. "Protozoa" II: Apicomlexa, Ciliophora
  • 3. Animalia (Metazoa): Porifera
  • 4. Animalia: Cnidaria, Ctenophora
  • 5. Animalia Protostomia: Platyhelminthes, Gastrotricha
  • 6. Animalia: Rotifera, Acanthocephala; Nematoda, Nematomorpha; Tardigrada, Onychophora
  • 7. Arthropoda: Trilobitomorpha, Chelicerata
  • 8. Crustacea: Branchiopoda, Maxillopoda, Malacostraca
  • 9. Myriapoda and Hexapoda: Entognatha
  • 10. Hexapoda Ectognatha: Apterygota, Pterygota Paleoptera (+ Plecoptera)

Assessment methods
Successful passing of examination, carried out by means of written test (ABCD), is based on extended study (from selected literature sources) as well as particularly on personal practical experience with morphology, anatomy etc. of selected species gained during practical course (ZBEL).
