Course objectives
The aim is: - to be able to understand chemical text written or spoken in English, - to be able to retell chemical text in English after reading it, - to be able to express oneself about chemical problems without dictionary.
Syllabus
  • Vocabulary: 1. Types of Matter. 2. Chemical Nomenclature. 3. Chemical Glassware. 4. Accidents and First Aid. Reading and Comprehension: 5. Breath Analysis for Ethyl Alcohol. 6. The Aurora. 7. The Ozone Story. 8. Acid Rain. 9. The Greenhouse Effect. 10. Biological Effects of Radiation.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Seminar. In the end the students show to the teacher that the aim of the education was fulfilled. The aim is: - to be able to understand chemical text written or spoken in English, - to be able to retell chemical text in English after reading it, - to be able to express oneself about chemical problems without dictionary. No written exam.
