Course objectives
The course is intended for those interested in deeper knowledge of  linguistic work and the students who are preparing a thesis in linguistics  . It is based primarily on students' individual work and individual consultations with selected teachers of the  department.
It is assumed that the student has selected topic, acquired and critically reviewed findings from the literature   and sufficient linguistic material according to the nature of research.
  At the end of the semester the student demonstrates that he can handle the topic with adequate methods. Individual student work and consultations with selected   teacher focuses on the material processing and presenting the results of research in scientific text.
Syllabus
  • 1. Critical evaluation of the scientific information of the secondary literature as presumption of theoretical-methodological resource of scientific work. 2. Classification of the acquired language "material", its classification according to chosen linguistic criteria.Explanation of chosen classification criterion. 3.Presenting the results of research in the linguistic text.

Assessment methods
Individual tuition with teacher. Student can obtain credit after commiting of written work that can be a part of the future diploma thesis in the Czech language. Student shall demonstrate in this work the ability to process linguistic topic with adequate methods.
