It is presupposed that the student has finished Fundamentals of Slavonic studies.

Course objectives
Students will master phonetics of Slovene (speech sounds of the language, pronounciation and grammar (morphology). Students aquirement basic information on Slovenia, too.
After finishing the course:
- student masters phonetic of the Slovene;
- student masters grammar of the Slovene and he is able to use the knowledge in speaking and writing;
- student knows the basic vocabulary of Slovene and he can make himself understood in common everyday situation;
- student has got fundamental information about Slovenia and Slovene.
Syllabus
  • 1. Pronunciation and graphics of Slovene.
  • 2. Morphology of nouns, adjectives and verbs.
  • 3. Conversation themes, reading Slovene texts.
  • 4. Acquaintance with Slovene life and institution.

Teaching methods
- Reading comprehension;
- explainig of the Slovenian grammar;
- practising of the grammar;
- translation;
- conversation.
Assessment methods
Seminary course Ending: Credit Credit requirements: Active working at the seminars; individual written essay (c. 1 page) on the theme of everyday life (for example My flat. My studies...).
