Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to enhance students knowledge of the Czech literature created in the first half of the 20th century. Through selected chapters the students will be offered insights into the early works of the outstanding personalities writing between the two world wars, especially those whose literary beginnings are connected with expressionism.

  • Characteristics of the period: 1. Literature in the sign of expresionism. Basic standpoints, perception of the reality, expressionist view of the world. Key features of expressionistic poetics.
