Course objectives
The course aims to master particular strategies and procedures practically. These strategies and procedures are aimed to the development of an active and effective learning process, independent and critical pupils’ thinking, and to an improvement of working with a text and creativity in teaching the Czech language at secondary schools.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able: 1. to understand the alternative methods and the methods of critical thinking; 2. to use the alternative methods — the methods should develop active, effective learning; 3. to use the methods of critical thinking in teaching Czech (especially in grammar and stylistic lessons) in the grammar school. 4. to use textbooks in teaching Czech. Gained educational methods correspond to the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education.

  • 1. Czech language teaching in the grammar school. 2. Methodology and strategy of efektive learning and teaching - evocation phase methods of the lesson,realization phase methods,reflection phase methods. 3. Influence of teaching methods on the atmosphere in schools. 4. Asking questions. 5. Textbooks and other aids.

Assessment methods
The subject is ended by a credit test. Credit requirements: a student is supposed to present a lesson plan that contains the application of the methods on particular topics of the Czech language curriculum. Detailed specifications are available in each term in Study Materials of the course in the Information System MU, the folder Learning Materials.
