Course objectives
The aim of the course is to offer students the opportunity to work with literature for children and youth. On the basis of practical activities, students are introduced to the possibilities of working with a literature for different age categories of children and youth through the creation of a teaching program. They learn to design, implement and reflect a teaching program focusing on familiarizing children with the literature. Students create a program for children following the "Night with Andersen" project.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- analyze literature for children or young people and apply this knowledge in the creation of a teaching program;
- select a suitable literature for different age categories;
- choose appropriate teaching methods for creating a teaching program.

  • 1) Basic didactic categories (learning objectives, teaching contents, organizational form of teaching, didactic means)
  • 2) The suitability of a literature for program creation
  • 3) Choice of literary artwork
  • 4) Structuring and planning the learning program
  • 5) Preparation, implementation and reflection of the project "Night with Andersen"

Teaching methods
Work with text, work with images, work with audios, discussion, methods of skills creation, acting game, individual work of students.
Assessment methods
The course is complete with a teaching program "Night with Andersen". The evaluation is based on an analysis of student work - active student involvement, regular attendance, home preparation and reflection of the preparatory and implementation phases of the project.
