Course objectives
There is presupposed the students have Czech language skills of the linguistic disciplines (phonetic, orthographical, morphological, lexical and syntactical knowledge) The aim of the subject is a repetition of the knowledge when the student identify and explaining them in text.
- The students should be able to explain the particular language phenomena of the phonetic, morphological, lexical and syntactical level.
- The students should be able to explain the phenomena of the contemporary Czech texts in the connection with the historical development of the Czech language.
- The students should be able to explain stylish value of the language means in the text.
Learning outcomes
After finishing this course, the student will be able to: - analyse text as a whole from the stylish point of view
- analyse the phenomena of individual linguistic levels (spelling and grammatical phenomena, morphological, word-forming, lexical, syntactic phenomena);
- explain the phenomena of contemporary Czech language with regard to their anchoring in the text and the communication situation, some as a consequence of changes during the development of the language.
Syllabus
  • 1. Texts and the sentence. Stylish spheres.
  • 2. Phonetic phenomena in the text, stylish character, literary and non-literary phenomena.
  • 3. Morphology. Stylish characteristic of the morphological units in the texts.
  • 4. Word formation, vocabulary in the texts. Calque in the Czech texts, Word formation of the calque. Tendence of the development of the contemporary Czech vocabulary and word formation.
  • 5. Syntactical structure of the sentences. Some mistakes in the syntactical structure.
  • 6. Analysis of the sentences, combined sentences and compouned sentences.
  • 7. Text composition. Functional perspektive of the sentence.

- online tutoring when using the tool MS Teams; the students that will have registrated this subject will be invited to the tutoring of the team Jazykový rozbor 1 in MS Teams.
Assessment methods
Credit requirements:
Submission of the textual analysis is required. Each student shall receive short text with assigned tasks.
The analysis shall be submitted at least one week before the end of the exam period.
