Course objectives
1. to understand of the alternative methods and the methods of the critical thinking; 2. to use the alternative methods - the methods should develop active, effective learning; 3. to use the methods of the critical thinking in teaching Czech, especially in grammar and stylistic lessons in the primary and lower secondary school. There is emphasised the central spheres of the syntax, morphology and orthography.The students shall be informed about usage Czech national corpus in the language teaching. Gained educational methods correspond to the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education requirements.
Syllabus
  • 1. Czech language teaching in the primary and lower secondary school.
  • 2. Methodology and strategy of efektive learning and teaching. Techniques of preparation lessons, organising of the lessons.
  • 3. Evocation phase methods of the lesson (key words, discussion in pairs etc.)
  • 4. Realization phase methods (discussion web, we teach each other etc.)
  • 5. Reflection phase methods (a map of thoughts, free writing).
  • 6. Influence of teaching methods on the atmosphere in schools.
  • 7. Czech national corpus and language teaching.

Assessment methods
The subject is ended by credit. Compulsory attendance. Homework is required in the course of the term. Credit requirements: a student is supposed to present a lesson plan that contains application of the methods on particular topics of the Czech language curriculum. Detailed requirements are available in each term in Study Materials of the course in the Information System MU, the folder Learning Materials.
