Course objectives
The course objective is to monitor and evaluate the process of narrowing down and shifting of the dissertation project following the courses of Methodology of scietific research in pedagogy and Methodology of research in didactics of foreign languages.
Syllabus
  • The studies in the doctoral programme lead to the completion of a dissertation which, in compliance with §47 of the Education Act relating to Universities, "evidences the ability and readiness to work independetly in the field of research or development or in theoretical and creative artistic activity". Accepted dissertations are supposed to be original scientific-theoretical, methodological and empirical papers or works that appropriately combine the above stated concepts. • Theoretical dissertations deal with various theoretical approaches to problems in the field concerned, requiring a high level of abstract and analytical thinking and insight. • Methodology dissertations analyse neew research approaches, methods, techniques and tools and evaluate their assets and drawbacks. • Empirical dissertations bring concrete findings gained using specific research methods. Presented findings are always the result of empirical research. The course objective is to monitor and evaluate the process of narrowing down and shifting of the dissertation project following the courses of Methodology of scietific research in pedagogy and Methodology of research in didactics of foreign languages. The supervisor decides on the particular course content.

  • Výběr dle tématu a charakteru disertační práce. Studenti mají v informačním systému k dispozici systematický rozpis všech okruhů oborů a souvisejících disciplin a úplný přehled literárních pramenů.
Teaching methods
Students submit (on a term basis) the research project which they are developing, later they hand in the text of the dissertation itself and set goals for another term.
