Course objectives
The course objective is to introduce students to the field of school pedagogy which integrates the knowledge of: a) theory of school, b) theory of curriculum, c) theory of teaching.
Syllabus
  • The course objective is to introduce students to the field of school pedagogy which integrates the knowledge of: a) theory of school, i.e. an institution which through teaching and learning fulfills the functions of personalization, socialisation and inculturalisation; b) theory of curriculum, i.e. a tool of school management especially on the level of educational aims and contents; c) theory of teaching, i.e. the field of planning, carrying out and evaluating the teaching and learning processes. As such it is the key course of the pedagogical-psychological section. Topics: • School as an institution and organisation (school and its functions - personalisation, social function, school management and administration, educational environment - culture, climate, etc.) • Curriculum (theory and conception of curriculum, development and research on curriculum, curricular documents and problems, forms of curriculum, curricular processes - implementation, development, realization, re-examination, categories of aim and content of school education etc.) • Agents and processes of school education (teacher, pupils, classes, learning, didactic transformation of the subject-matter, subject-content - sequencing, presentation etc.)
