Course objectives
The course objective is to develop students´research competence, in the field of empirical research in particular. The integral part of the course is clinical practice during which students work in educational institutions either as researchers or teachers-researchers.
Syllabus
  • The course Field research draws directly upon compulsory courses in Methodology of research in pedagogy and Methodology of research in didactics of foreign languages. The course objective is to develop students´research competence, in the field of empirical research in particular. The integral part of the course is clinical practice during which stundents work in educational institutions either as researchers or teachers-researchers. Depending on the specialization of their dissertation projects, students will carry out partial research studies or relevant pre-research: they will choose a research problem and set aims of the research, decide on a suitable research design and on the basis of collected and interpreted data, draw conclusions and write a research report. Continuous reports and the final research report will be appropriately presented in joint seminars, with the aim to share and compare experience from the school field as a necessary condition for the development of a reflective potential of every students as well as for the development of their research competence.
