Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to:work with information on the history of historiografy from its beginnings in antique Greece and Rome till the Elightenment. It put historiography into wider political, cultural and epistemological contexts.
Learning outcomes
The student is able to use information about the history of world and Czech historiography from ancient beginnings to the present. It deals with historiography in a broader, generally cultural context and will also monitor the evolution of the relationship of history to the related humanities.

  • 1. The beginnings of historiography in ancient Greece and Rome 2. Early medieval historiography 3. Historiography of the High and Late Middle Ages 4. Renaissance historiography 5. Historiography of the 17th and 18th centuries, baroque historiography 6. Enlightenment of Histories
