Course objectives
student will be able to indentify common and specific features of communist regimes in states of Central Europe during the period of 1948-1989
Syllabus
  • 1, the causes of the Cold War, its initial phase and the impact on the situation in the countries of Central Europe; 2, the advent of the communist regime in Poland; 3, the formation of the GDR and the foundation period of the regime; 4, the characteristics of the regime in Hungary in the years 1947-1956; 5 Czechoslovakia after 1948; 6, meaning XX. Congress of the CPSU for the eastern bloc countries; 7, gradual changes in the situation in the 60s attempt at reform; 8 importance of 1968 for countries of the Eastern bloc, called.
